New European strategy survey
European crisis pilots have an efficient strategy process
In cooperation with ACE (Allied Consultants Europe), Implement Consulting Group has implemented a survey among 600 companies in nine European countries that sheds light on the reasons how a small group of about 7% of the companies asked have managed to navigate through the global crisis.
The four following points are important results in the area of strategy:
- Top Performers have efficient strategy processes and tools combined with a flexible and fast strategy process.
- Top Performers are better at involving, engaging and encouraging employees to buy into strategic initiatives. They quickly manage to synchronise all layers of the organisation, e.g. sales and operations, which has an enormous impact when the market quickly changes.
- Increased customer intimacy and innovation are top strategic priorities for most of the very best – in contrast to weaker players, who tend to focus on operational excellence and cutting costs.
- Top Performers invest more and are more on the offensive while the others are more protective and focused.
